Bond, Ephraim 1802-1851

Ephraim Bond was another son of Isaac's(3). He was born in Rutland County, Vermont in the year 1802. Ephraim spent his early years in Vermont and then moved westward to central New York state. There he met and married Jemima Lumm (1804-1845) ADM. Jemima was a native of Bainbridge, New York and a woman of Welsh descent.

They later moved to Decatur, New York where a son Hiram Ransom (1824-1900) was born. Other children of Ephraim and Jemima were Ephraim Augustus (1827-?), Samuel Austin (1832-?), Ann Eliza (1826-?), James Harry (1830-1876), Sarah Maria (1834-?), and Julia Ann (?-?).

After Jemima passed away, Ephraim then married Eliza (1819-?). Their children were George William (1846-1847), Charles (1849-1927), and Ephraim Jr (1851 - ?).

Ephraim and his first wife Jemima moved to Rochester, New York in 1840 and resided at 241 Buffalo Street. In 1841 Ephraim (a mason), Henry (a boatman), and James (a confectioner) were the only heads of household in Rochester. By 1844, Henry was no longer listed. In 1845, Ephraim and his family moved to 35 Reynolds Street.

Harvey, Hiram Ransom, and Isaac, all masons by trade, lived at 84 North Street, 241 Buffalo, and 5 Johnson Street. James was still in Rochester through 1852, Harvey through 1848, Isaac through 1846, and Ephraim until October 12th in the year 1851 when he died at the age of 51.
